The Role
The Purchasing Executive is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities to support production, projects, and company operations. This includes sourcing materials and services, issuing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to meet operational requirements. The role requires strong organizational and negotiation skills and close coordination with internal departments and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Handle the full spectrum of purchasing activities including sourcing, price negotiation, purchase order issuance, and delivery follow-up.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services in accordance with specifications, quality, and budget.
Evaluate and select vendors based on price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
Coordinate closely with the Production, Engineering, Project, and Warehouse teams to meet material requirements and lead times.
Assist in cost-saving initiatives and supplier performance improvement programs.
Ensure purchasing documents comply with company policies and ISO 9001 procedures.
Assist in the resolution of supply, quality, service, or invoicing issues with vendors.
Generate weekly purchasing reports and monthly raw material costing reports.
Support audit and reporting activities in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, as required by the Manager.
Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Manager, Purchasing & Logistics.
What We’re Looking For
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Good knowledge of purchasing practices, vendor sourcing, and negotiation techniques.
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
