Job Summary:

Financial Reporting & General Accounting

Manage full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.

Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and consolidated reports.

Maintain general ledger, journals, and account reconciliations.

Ensure proper classification of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control

Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with management.

Monitor actual vs. budget performance, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions.

Support project cost tracking and profitability analysis for engineering and automation projects.

Cash Flow Management

Monitor cash position, receivables, payables, and bank balances to ensure healthy liquidity.

Prepare cash flow projections and manage treasury activities.

Oversee invoicing, payment cycles, and credit control.

Compliance, Audit & Tax

Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS), statutory requirements, and company policies.

Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies for annual filing, tax returns, and compliance reporting.

Maintain proper documentation for SST, corporate tax, and other statutory submissions.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, processes, and documentation workflows.

Support management with financial analysis for business planning, proposals, and investment decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with HR, procurement, project managers, and operations teams to align financial processes.

Support management with financial insights for decision-making, cost optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certification preferred: ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent (full or part-qualified).

Strong understanding of MFRS, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.

Experience with ERP/Accounting systems (e.g., SQL Accounting, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).

Experience in automation, manufacturing, engineering, or project-based businesses.

Knowledge of project costing, WIP tracking, and revenue recognition methodologies.

Familiarity with multi-entity or regional financial consolidation.

Ability to implement or optimize accounting software and reporting systems.
