Job Description

As a Assistant Manager/Manager at Adient, you will drive sourcing strategies, cost optimization, and supplier performance to support both Shah Alam and Tanjung Malim operations. You will lead a team of buyers and collaborate with key business functions to ensure material quality, availability, and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead annual purchasing cost reduction initiatives aligned with corporate strategy

• Negotiate contracts and secure competitive pricing and terms

• Establish and review sourcing decisions through Sourcing Board governance

• Develop and maintain a qualified, reliable supply base to support business needs

• Monitor and improve supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost)

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of purchasing KPIs and compliance with POS processes

• Plan and manage purchasing workforce and department budget effectively

• Mentor and develop purchasing team members, driving a high-performance culture

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields

• 5–8 years’ experience in Automotive Purchasing with 2+ years in a managerial/supervisory position

• Strong knowledge of automotive components, commodity strategy, and costing

• Strong negotiation, project management, and supplier management skills

• Good communication, leadership, and analytical capabilities

• International exposure is an added advantage
