Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Operations
Lead and oversee inbound, storage, order fulfilment, and outbound activities for all product categories (ambient, chilled, frozen).
Develop and implement SOPs, productivity standards, and KPIs to drive operational excellence.
Plan warehouse capacity, racking utilization, and cold-chain infrastructure to support business growth.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and strengthen service quality.
Provide operational insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
2. Warehouse Management
Supervise daily warehouse operations (Receiving, Put-away, Storage, Picking, Packing, and Loading) for dry, chilled, and frozen areas.
Ensure proper FEFO/FIFO handling, temperature monitoring, and cold-chain discipline.
Oversee warehouse space utilization, pallet optimization, and housekeeping standards.
Ensure warehouse compliance with HACCP, ISO, Halal, and food safety standards.
3. People & Performance Management
Lead and manage warehouse supervisors, assistants, and logistics staff by setting clear daily and weekly operational targets.
Implement effective shift planning and rotation schedules (morning and midday shifts) to ensure smooth operations.
Conduct regular team briefings, on-the-job training (WMS, SOPs), and performance appraisals to build capability and consistency.
Drive KPI incentive programmes to motivate employees, enhance engagement, and maintain high team morale.
4. Compliance & Quality Control
Ensure full compliance with Halal, HACCP, ISO, Cold Chain, and Food Safety & Quality standards across all warehouse and logistics operations.
Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and certification bodies during inspections and audits.
Monitor product quality performance, including chilled and frozen rejection rates, and implement timely corrective and preventive actions.
Enforce adherence to the Goods Handling Policy and ensure all warehouse and logistics personnel maintain proper product handling practices.
Support and coordinate bi-annual stocktake exercises by ensuring warehouse readiness, proper staff allocation, and accurate inventory recording.
Establish and oversee inventory control frameworks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accountability, while setting policies for variance management and reporting.
Conduct regular audits, temperature monitoring, and implement corrective action plans.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing/BD teams to align stock availability and inventory planning with customer demand.
6. People Leadership
Lead and develop Warehouse/Store Managers, Supervisors, and the Logistics team
Build a strong talent pipeline by conducting performance reviews, training, and development programs.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain , Operations Management, or related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in logistics/warehouse management, preferably in FMCG or food distribution.
Strong knowledge of chilled/frozen logistics and warehouse operations.
Proven leadership experience in managing warehouse staff.
Hands-on, proactive, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
Familiar with ERP/ Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and reporting tools.
Good knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements warehouse operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
