Job Description
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
-Prepare and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, and available capacity.
-Translate customer orders into daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for SMT, pSSD, and SSD operations.
-Monitor schedule adherence and take corrective actions when deviations occur.
-Coordinate production priorities and manage line changeovers to optimize throughput.
2. Capacity & Resource Planning
-Perform capacity planning for SMT lines, FATP, testing, and packaging processes.
-Identify production constraints and escalate risks related to manpower, equipment, or process limitations.
-Support shift planning, overtime, and resource allocation during ramp-up or demand fluctuations.
-Coordinate with engineering and operations to support line readiness and qualification.
3. Material Planning & Inventory Control
-Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure material availability aligned with production schedules.
-Monitor material shortages, excess inventory, and potential obsolescence risks.
-Control WIP levels in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
-Ensure FIFO, lot control, and traceability requirements are maintained.
4. Customer & Demand Management
-Support customer delivery commitments and monitor On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
-Communicate schedule changes, upside/downside demand, and delivery risks to relevant stakeholders.
-Prepare production status updates and planning reports for internal and customer reviews.
5. System & Data Management
-Maintain accurate planning data in ERP / MRP systems, including BOMs, routings, lead times, and yields.
-Support ERP planning parameter setup during new plant or system implementation.
-Generate and analyze planning KPIs such as plan adherence, capacity utilization, and inventory turns.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
-Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, warehouse, quality, engineering, and program management teams.
-Participate in daily production meetings, shortage reviews, and ramp-up coordination meetings.
-Support new product introduction (NPI) and pilot production activities.
7. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
-Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, production flow, and inventory control.
-Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
-Develop and execute mitigation plans for supply chain disruptions or production risks.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Experience
-Minimum 3–8 years of experience in production planning or material planning within an electronics manufacturing environment.
-Experience in SMT manufacturing and FATP / system assembly operations is required.
-Experience in EMS or high-volume manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Technical Skills
-Strong knowledge of MPS, MRP, and capacity planning.
-Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
-Understanding of production flow, takt time, yield management, and traceability requirements.
