Job Description
1.HARDWARE & INSTRUMENTATION INSTALLATION
Assist Engineers in the installation, configuration, and commissioning of AMR and SCADA hardware at site, including modems, RTUs, sensors, communication devices, and related instrumentation to ensure systems meet operational and technical requirements.
2.MAINTENANCE & TROUBLESHOOTING
Perform troubleshooting of AMR, SCADA, fiber, GC, and associated instrumentation by identifying root causes of failures and executing corrective actions to restore system functionality and minimize downtime.
3.SITE SUPPORT & FIELD ACTIVITIES
Support Engineers in managing and monitoring site works, including planned and unplanned assignments for new site installations, upgrades, and metering projects.
Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and Operations & Maintenance (OM) branches during site activities.
4.SCADA & INSTRUMENTATION SUPPORT
Assist in supporting SCADA, Gas Chromatograph (GC), and AMR-related instrumentation used to monitor and control gas processes.
Ensure hardware integrity, signal reliability, and communication stability at site.
5.NETWORK & COMMUNICATION INTERFACE
Support troubleshooting related to communication equipment, including modems, SIM cards, surge protection, power supplies, and data transmission paths.
Assist in protocol-related transitions (e.g. Modbus to MQTT) by supporting hardware readiness and site verification.
6.SYSTEM REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION
Report site issues, abnormalities, and improvement opportunities to Engineers.
Maintain records of site troubleshooting activities, replacement works, and instrumentation status for tracking and audit purposes.
7.TECHNICAL SUPPORT & KNOWLEDGE SHARING
Provide technical support to operators and internal users on the operation of AMR and SCADA hardware.
Assist in educating colleagues on correct handling, operation, and basic troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
8.RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS SAFETY AND HEALTH
Perform duties in a safe and healthy manner. Working according to the instructions and always complying with safety and health rules, procedures, and practices in order to have safe, healthy and conducive working environment.
9.RESPONSIBILITY TOWARD INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ISMS)
Responsible for protecting Gas Malaysia's information assets and ensure that all breaches of information security, actual or suspected are reported in order to ensure that confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information is maintained; information is accessible to all employees according to business need and is protected against unauthorized access and at the same time meeting the contractual, regulatory and legislative requirement.
10.RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS ANTI-BRIBERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ABMS)
Uphold and adhere to the principles of the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) by ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are carried out with integrity, transparency, and in compliance with GMD’s anti-bribery policies. Promptly report any suspected bribery or unethical conduct in accordance with established procedures to support a corruption-free working environment
