Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Chemist to support new product development (NPD) of disinfectant products while also managing incoming raw material testing and routine chemical analyses. The role involves formulation development, laboratory evaluation, quality support, and close collaboration with manufacturing and regulatory teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with disinfectant formulations and a strong understanding of antimicrobial chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and validate formulations.

Conduct laboratory trials for new product development and improvement of existing products

Evaluate raw materials such as biocides, surfactants, solvents, stabilizers, and fragrances

Perform efficacy, stability, compatibility, and performance testing

Support scale-up and technology transfer from lab to pilot and commercial production

Collaborate with production, QA/QC, regulatory, and procurement teams

Prepare and maintain formulation documents, SOPs, batch records, and technical reports

Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, BPR, BIS, WHO, ISO, GMP as applicable)

Troubleshoot formulation, processing, and quality issues during manufacturing

Stay updated on market trends, and innovations in disinfectant and hygiene products

Perform incoming quality control testing of raw materials as per specifications

Conduct routine chemical testing such as assay, pH, density, viscosity, titration, and checks

Verify Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and release or reject raw materials

Maintain reference standards, reagents, and test solutions

Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

5 years of experience in disinfectant, antiseptic, or hygiene product formulation

Knowledge of formulation stability, preservative systems, and antimicrobial efficacy

Experience in lab-scale development and manufacturing scale-up

Hands-on experience in incoming raw material testing and chemical analysis

Strong understanding of disinfectant actives

Technical Skills

Formulation and optimization of disinfectants

Understanding of cGMP, GLP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, MDA, FDA and safety practices
