Job Description

Provide project planning, administrative, and operational support to the Malaysia Dam & Hydro team.

Assist in project cost control activities, including monitoring budgets, WIP, progress, and debt positions.

Coordinate project activities, track schedules, and proactively follow up on deliverables and outstanding items.

Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project delivery plans, forecasts, and supporting documentation.

Set up new projects in the financial management system in accordance with SMEC standards and internal approvals.

Assist in the preparation and review of intercompany, sub-consultancy, and joint venture agreements.

Support monthly reporting, re-planning, and forecasting processes.

Coordinate invoicing and follow up on payments, escalating issues where required.

Coordinate with all team members to ensure timesheets are completed in the system on a weekly basis.

Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready project records in compliance with BMS, QMS, and OH&S procedures.

Job Specification

Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Engineering or other relevant disciplines.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project controls, finance, accounting, or consulting/project-based environments.

Experience in engineering, infrastructure, or consultancy projects is an advantage.

Strong financial and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.

Good understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.

Good time management and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
