Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Market Execution

Develop and implement national sales strategies that align with commercial goals and market dynamics.

Drive effective coverage and revenue growth across all key segments: General Practitioners (GP), Retail Pharmacies (Rx), Private Hospitals (PH), and Government Hospitals (GH).

Monitor market trends, identify new opportunities, and initiate plans to expand market share and customer base.

Collaborate with marketing and finance teams to optimise pricing strategies and manage cost efficiency.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, coach, and mentor a nationwide sales force, including Sales Managers and field representatives.

Cultivate a high-performance sales culture built on accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.

Oversee succession planning and ensure readiness of talent pipelines to support long-term growth.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional departments such as Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Planning, Supply Chain, and Business Development to ensure aligned execution of commercial strategies.

Coordinate with supply and production teams to manage demand planning and ensure product availability.

Key Account & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare professionals, procurement stakeholders, distributors, and healthcare institutions.

Lead major account negotiations, including private contracts and government tender processes.

Represent the sales function in cross-functional leadership discussions and strategic business planning meetings.

Commercial Compliance & Financial Management

Contribute to pricing, discount structures, and trade term decisions in collaboration with finance and commercial leadership.

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, credit controls, and payment terms.

Support audit activities by maintaining transparent and accurate documentation of all sales and promotional expenditures.

Performance Monitoring & Data-Driven Insights

Regularly analyse sales performance data, competitor activity, and market insights to refine strategies and improve effectiveness.

Utilise reporting tools to monitor KPIs, identify gaps, and take corrective actions to ensure targets are met or exceeded.



What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Science or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).

Minimum 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 10 years in a senior sales leadership role.

Strong exposure to both originator and generic pharma products is highly preferred.

Deep understanding of Malaysia’s healthcare sectors (GP, Rx, PH, GH).

Proven success in leading large, geographically diverse sales teams.

Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in English is essential (written and spoken), and fluency in other languages will be an added advantage. .
