Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Management
Supervising finance & accounts department, overseeing day-to-day financial and accounting operation, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with regulatory standards.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and highlights abnormal/irregular transaction to Management.
Implement and monitor effective internal controls related to general ledger activities.
Managing cashflow and funding requirement.
Strategize on fund procurement through financial institutions that involves loan application, redemption, charge and discharge.
Manage related company transactions and reconciliations to ensure accurate consolidation of financial results.
2. Tax and Compliance
Prepare and file local, state, and federal tax returns for direct and indirect tax.
Maintain compliance with tax laws and manage indirect taxes efficiently.
Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Ensure timely financial reporting, tax estimation/revision & submission.
3. Audit Management
Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required information and swiftly implementing audit recommendations.
Conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis
Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to provide strategic planning.
Deliver accurate, timely financial data for informed management decisions.
Develop financial models and conduct variance analysis to support business decisions.
Evaluating financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
5. Process Improvement and Technology Adoption
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes for better efficiency.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in accounting and financial software.
Implement automation tools to streamline accounting tasks and improve accuracy.
Developing, implementing and reviewing standard operating procedure.
6. Collaboration and Assistance
Foster communication with other departments to ensure seamless workflow.
Collaborate with the IT team to enhance financial systems and processes.
7. Others
Liaise with audit & tax consultant and in-charge for internal and external audit.
Liaise with bankers, external parties and related companies on financial and accounting matter.
Job Requirements:
Having professional qualification such as ACCA / CPA / MIA / Master’s degree in Accounting or related.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the retail industry and with prior experience in audit firm.
Required language(s): MANDARIN, English, Bahasa Malaysia. Prefer Mandarin speaking candidates to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients (able to SPEAK, READ and WRITE in Mandarin).
Able to provide accurate analysis and highlight potential financial issues from daily business activities and operations
Proven experience in leading and managing teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SQL accounting software is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax laws.
Strong analytical skill, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good attitude, resourceful, independent, multi-tasking with result oriented.
Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
