The Opportunity

We are hiring a QA Engineer to own testing across the full stack of an interactive hardware product — from physical hardware validation and embedded firmware testing through to cloud integration. You will work directly with developers to understand each version, feature, and fix, then design and execute rigorous test scenarios that cover both hardware and software. You will be the quality gatekeeper — building the test framework, managing defect tracking in Jira/Monday.com, and ensuring product quality at every stage of development.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Software Test Execution: Validate hardware, firmware, wireless communication and cloud services end-to-end including real-world testing.

Developer Handoff & Scenario-Based Testing: Work with developers at each release to design and execute structured test scenarios covering happy paths, edge cases and failure modes with clear documented evidence for every result.

Defect Tracking & Version Management: Log all bugs, test results and verifications in Jira/Monday.com with full traceability to version and root cause, including regression verification when fixes are deployed.

Test Planning & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive test plans, traceability matrices and growing test case library documented clearly enough for any team member to reproduce independently.

User Experience & Interaction Testing: Test interactive product scenarios and UX edge cases, translating findings into actionable tickets with reproduction steps and severity ratings.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

3+ years of QA engineering experience, ideally with consumer hardware or interactive products that combine physical devices with software/firmware.

Proven experience testing both hardware and software in an integrated product — you are comfortable validating physical components as well as APIs and cloud services.

Experience with structured test scenario design: writing step-by-step test cases from developer specifications, including happy-path, edge-case, and extreme-condition scenarios with clear Pass/Fail criteria.

Hands-on experience with Jira or Monday.com for defect tracking, version management, and feature/sub-feature/sub-task tracking with state workflows.

Experience with test plan creation, traceability matrices, and structured testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with hardware testing and wireless protocol validation.

Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and root-cause investigation.

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage testing independently as the sole QA engineer on the team.

Fluent in English.

Nice-to-have

Experience testing embedded firmware, OTA update flows, or IoT devices.

Familiarity with wireless and short-range communication protocol testing and validation.

Experience with API testing tools (Postman, or similar) and automated test scripting.

Experience with test automation frameworks for hardware-in-the-loop or integration testing.
