Assistant Manager, Civil & Structural Design

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES :
This role will be responsible to perform the duty of a civil and structural consultant - to plan, create and manage civil and structural (C&S) design that is well considered, safe, functional, technically accurate and as creative as possible without compromising on the laws and regulations of the project site.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN :

Develop preliminary design scheme to enable other team members to develop preliminary cost estimation. Providing sufficient information to enable the other team members to produce preliminary design proposal.

Analysing, proposing and designing all structural and civil works including piling, pilecap, retaining wall, internal sanitary and plumbing works.

Consulting other team members in connection with architectural treatment of works, to arrive at the most appropriate and cost-efficient structural system required.

Prepare designs, working drawings, detailed design drawings, coordinated design drawings, comprehensive technical specifications and schedule, details analysis and calculation related to C&S works; as may be required for submission to any appropriate authorities and to be incorporated in the works of the project.

Prepare civil and structural coordinated tender drawings ready for tendering and sufficient for carrying out the project implementation works; Ensure all the C&S works are implemented as per coordinated drawings among the services.

Periodic inspection to ensure that the works are executed generally according to design and specification, contract and otherwise in accordance with good engineering practice; such as materials supplied for incorporation in the structural works as necessary where such inspection and test are within the technical competence of the Engineer; includes arranging and witnessing acceptance tests in laboratory or at site.

Providing the Contractors with such further designs, specifications and drawings, including bar bending schedules, necessary of the information as are necessary in the opinion of the Engineer, to enable and sufficient for carrying out the project implementation works.

Carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in civil & structural design, preferably within property development or consultancy environment.

Proficient in engineering design and analysis software such as Prota ,AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM (e.g. Revit) will be an added advantage.

Experienced in handling high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-development projects is highly preferred.

Ability to review and verify structural calculations, drawings, and technical submissions.

Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Good project coordination and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
