Environmental Assessment (EA) Consultant

Company Overview:
We are a leading sustainability and environmental consultancy firm committed to delivering responsible development through sound environmental practices. As part of our growth, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior EA Consultant to join our dynamic and purpose-driven team.

Role Summary
As an EA Consultant, you will lead and manage the preparation and delivery of Environmental Assessments across diverse projects. You will play a key role in engaging clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into the decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage EA projects from inception to approval.
• Conduct scoping, baseline studies, impact assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including ecologists, planners, engineers, and legal advisors.
• Liaise with clients, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review and quality-check technical reports and documentation.
• Provide strategic advice on environmental legislation and sustainability frameworks.
• Mentor and guide junior staff in project execution and technical development.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in EIA consultancy.
• Proven track record managing EIA submissions and securing approvals.
• Strong knowledge of local environmental regulations and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles).
• Excellent project management and client communication skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver under tight timelines.
• Professional certifications or EIA Assessor registration (where applicable) is an advantage.
• Language Proficiency
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

As the role involves regular interaction with clients from Mainland China and Hong Kong, proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese will be an added advantage.
