Field Application Engineer - based in Penang

Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical and application support for advanced deposition equipment at customer facilities.

Support and optimize sputtering and evaporation processes in high-volume production environments.

Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for both equipment hardware and process-related issues.

Collaborate closely with regional technical teams and global engineering counterparts to ensure timely issue resolution.

Act as the technical interface between customers and global headquarters, ensuring effective communication and long-term solutions.

Prepare detailed technical documentation, including failure analysis, root cause investigations, and performance reports.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support technical discussions via meetings or teleconferences.

Travel within the region (and occasionally internationally) to support customer sites as required.

Work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials, or related disciplines).

Open to fresh graduates; candidates with postgraduate qualifications (Master’s/PhD) are an added advantage.

Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).

Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities.

Willingness to travel frequently based on business needs.

Must be able to be based in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
