Job Description
Job Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable (Primary Responsibility)
Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable processes including vendor setup, invoice processing, credit notes, and payment preparation
Ensure timely and accurate posting of supplier invoices, journal entries, and AP transactions
Review and verify invoices for proper approvals and supporting documentation
Prepare and process payments (GIRO, wire transfers, intercompany payments) in accordance with company policies
Monitor AP Aging and ensure timely settlement of liabilities
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, disputes, and vendor inquiries
Perform monthly AP closing activities and reconciliations
Manage intercompany balances and confirmations related to payables
Maintain proper documentation, filing, and audit trail for all AP transactions
Continuously review and improve AP processes, controls, and efficiency
2. General Accounting Support
Assist with journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments
Support month-end closing and ensure timely reporting
Perform balance sheet reconciliations related to AP and other assigned accounts
Assist in preparation of financial reports and analysis
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
3. Treasury & Cash Management Support
Support daily treasury and cash management operations, including payment scheduling, liquidity planning, and cash flow monitoring to ensure optimal fund utilization
Prepare and review bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of discrepancies
Assist in short-term cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting to support strategic decision-making
Liaise effectively with banking partners and internal stakeholders on payment processes, funding requirements, and treasury-related matters
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including guidelines set by Bank Negara Malaysia, as well as internal policies and governance frameworks
Support treasury operations such as preparation of documentation for financing arrangements, banking facilities, and capital management activities
Assist in managing foreign exchange (FX) exposures, including monitoring currency positions, executing FX transactions, and supporting hedging strategies to mitigate market risks
Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of hedging instruments and treasury risk management practices in line with approved policies
4. Process Improvement & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and automation within AP and finance processes
Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with procurement, operations, and other departments to resolve AP-related issues
Provide timely and professional responses to vendors and internal stakeholders
Support ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required
Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and controls
Basic understanding of general ledger and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting systems/ERP and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Key Performance Indicators:
Accuracy and timeliness of AP processing and payments
Effectiveness in resolving AP discrepancies and vendor issues
Timely completion of month-end closing activities
Quality of reconciliations and financial data
Compliance with internal controls and audit standards
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or Professional qualifications
3–5 years of relevant experience, primarily in Accounts Payable with exposure to general accounting
Experience handling APAC business transactions and cross-border payments
Exposure to working with multiple legal entities in a shared services or regional finance environment
Familiarity with multi-currency environments and regional banking practices
