Job Description

Responsibilities include:

Handling disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, and dispute resolution in a fair and consistent manner

Maintaining constructive relationships with employee representatives to ensure stable labor relations

ensures compliance with Malaysian employment legislation and statutory requirements, including the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.

overseeing HR documentation, audits, and reporting, and working closely with Legal and regional HR teams on risk management and complex employee cases.

The HR Manager oversees the full employee lifecycle for the manufacturing workforce, from hiring and onboarding through performance management and exits. The role supports training and development initiatives for operators, technicians, supervisors, and site leaders, and contributes to succession planning and internal talent development for critical roles at the plant.

In addition, the role supports compensation, benefits, and payroll activities at the site level, including:

Participation in annual salary reviews, bonus administration, and manpower budgeting

Ensuring payroll accuracy through coordination with shared services or external vendors

Addressing employee queries related to pay, benefits, and statutory entitlements

The HR Manager also oversees daily HR operations such as attendance management, shift arrangements, leave administration, and contract management. Continuous improvement of HR processes is expected to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience. Accurate HR data and reporting on headcount, turnover, and workforce metrics are an important part of the role.

Employee engagement and culture are key priorities. The HR Manager supports site‑level communication and engagement initiatives, works with leaders to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment, and partners with EHS teams to promote health, safety, and employee well‑being.

This role requires solid experience in manufacturing HR, particularly in managing a blue‑collar workforce. A strong understanding of Malaysian labor and industrial relations laws is essential, along with a practical, hands‑on approach and sound judgment in handling sensitive employee matters. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced plant environment and partnering closely with operations leaders.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. The role typically requires 8–12 years of HR experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing or plant operations. Experience in a multinational or matrix organization is preferred. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required, and Mandarin is an advantage due to communication with China and Taiwan HQ manufacturing sites.
