Import Operations Manager (Ocean Freight)

About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Import Operations Manager to establish and lead our ocean import operations for the Australian market. This is a high-impact role where you will build processes from the ground up, drive operational excellence, and work closely with global teams.

Key Responsibilities
Build & Lead Operations

Establish and manage end-to-end ocean import operations for the Australia market

Oversee daily workflows and ensure smooth execution of shipments

Ensure Compliance Excellence

Ensure full compliance with Australian customs regulations (ABF, AQIS)

Manage import laws, duties, and tax processes accurately

Client & Partner Management

Act as the key point of contact for major clients and global partners

Proactively resolve complex shipment and operational issues

System & Process Optimization

Implement and optimize internal logistics systems for reporting and workflow efficiency

Team Development

Train, mentor, and build a high-performing import operations team

Performance Management

Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, clearance speed, and cost efficiency

Drive continuous improvements across operations

Global Coordination

Collaborate with teams across China, U.S., and Vietnam to ensure seamless shipment handling

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or above

Experience

Minimum 5 years in international freight forwarding

At least 3 years in ocean import operations

Leadership (Preferred)

Experience managing or mentoring a team is an advantage

Key Skills

Strong understanding of international logistics and customs compliance

Excellent cross-cultural communication skills

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving and operational mindset
