Mechanic Cum Tyreman

Key Responsibilities

🚛 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on heavy vehicles (haulage trucks, trailers, prime movers)

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, suspension, engine parts, and transmission systems

Ensure all repairs comply with safety and company standards

Tyre Management

Inspect tyres for wear and damage

Carry out tyre changes, rotation, balancing, and alignment checks

Maintain proper tyre pressure for all fleet vehicles

Record tyre usage, condition, and replacement schedule

Monitor tyre inventory and report replenishment needs

Workshop Support

Maintain cleanliness and safety of workshop area

Properly use and maintain tools and equipment

Assist senior mechanic or supervisor when required

Support breakdown assistance (roadside repair if applicable)

Documentation & Reporting

Record all maintenance and repair work performed

Report major defects or safety concerns immediately

Maintain service logs for each vehicle

Safety Compliance

Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Ensure compliance with road transport and safety regulations

Report unsafe conditions or practices
