Operation Senior Manager

1. P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
Take full ownership of the warehouse P&L (revenue, operating cost, gross margin).

Develop and manage annual operating budgets.

Monitor monthly financial performance and implement corrective actions.

Drive cost optimisation across manpower, overtime, equipment, trucking, and utilities.

Improve pricing discipline, yield management, and value-added services.

Ensure operational decisions are commercially sound and margin-focused.

2. Operational Leadership
Lead end-to-end bonded warehouse operations, including manpower planning, scheduling, productivity, and service quality.

Ensure efficient execution of inventory management, customs processes, customer service, and trucking operations in compliance with SOPs.

Drive operational KPIs such as productivity, turnaround time, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Conduct daily operational reviews and structured problem-solving sessions.

3. Compliance & Customs Management
Ensure full compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs regulations for bonded facilities.

Conduct operational audits and corrective actions to maintain bonded integrity.

Liaise with Customs officers and regulatory authorities when required.

Ensure proper handling and documentation of high-value, restricted, and bonded goods.

4. Customer Service & SLA Performance
Oversee customer service team to ensure timely and accurate responses.

Ensure SLAs are consistently achieved across inventory accuracy, turnaround time, and documentation.

Manage customer escalations and resolve issues professionally.

Work closely with Commercial and Business Development teams to support onboarding and retention.

5. Inventory & Quality Control
Ensure accurate stock management through cycle counts and reconciliations.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Maintain strong documentation governance to meet customs and audit requirements.

6. Trucking & Fleet Coordination
Manage trucking schedules, delivery planning, and fleet utilisation.

Ensure driver compliance with safety, discipline, and documentation standards.

Improve coordination between warehouse and transportation to reduce bottlenecks.

7. People Management
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and operations teams.

Build a disciplined, performance-driven culture.

Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Ensure adequate staffing and capability across shifts.

8. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Analyse operational data to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.

Implement Lean/Kaizen initiatives where applicable.

Optimise warehouse layout, space utilisation, and workflow.

Lead WMS/TMS improvement projects in collaboration with IT.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.

10–15 years of experience in warehouse/logistics/bonded operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.

Strong knowledge of bonded warehouse regulations and customs procedures.

Proven track record in leading large operational teams and delivering KPIs.

Experience in WMS/TMS or warehouse digitalisation is an added advantage.

Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
