Job Title: Patching & Automation Engineer Department: ISS Reports To: Manager of Operation Management Location: Kuala Lumpur Employment Type: Contract 1. Position Summary This role designs, develops, and maintains robotic process automation (RPA) solutions to improve organizational efficiency. It ensures adherence to best-practice development standards while also providing technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, and collaborative development. The position manages and supports server environments, using PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and retrieve system information via WMI. It also researches and documents improved development methods to strengthen long-term automation strategies. Additionally, the role works closely with internal teams and external vendors to resolve system and infrastructure issues, ensuring stable, scalable, and reliable automation operations. 2. Key Responsibilities Design and Develop RPA Solutions: • Model, build, and implement robotic process automation (RPA) workflows during project development, ensuring efficient, scalable, and reliable automation outcomes. Maintain RPA Development Standards: • Update, refine, and enforce developer standards and best practices to support consistent, high-quality automation development across the team. Provide Technical Mentorship: • Mentor and guide peers through code reviews, development knowledge-sharing sessions, and pair-programming to foster skill development and maintain code quality. Research and Recommend Improvements: • Investigate emerging practices, tools, and alternative solutions; document recommendations for future enhancements to automation development and processes. Manage Server and Environment Operations:• Maintain and support RPA servers and environments, scripting routine administrative tasks using PowerShell to streamline software updates, user management, and system configurations. Perform Automation Scripting and System Queries: • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to read/write data from diverse file types, integrate prebuilt modules, create custom functions, and use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to extract system and machine information. Collaborate on Infrastructure and System Issues: • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot, resolve, and implement solutions for infrastructure, environment, and system-related issues affecting automation operations. 3. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus. Years of Experience: • 3 Years of relevant working experiences in Automation and Windows/Linux Patching technology Technical Stack: • Experience architecting and developing workflow-based solutions or functionality • Experience with web development technologies preferential • Experience with RPA Software (e.g. BluePrism, UI Path, Work Fusion) advantageous • Experience in PowerShell/Unix scripting is a must • Willingness to learn and become an expert in RPA and other automation technologies Core Competencies: • Experience leading a team • Must be able to multitask and willing to work on multiple projects at a given time • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable interacting with business stakeholders and external clients • Ability to work to deadlines and manage expectations • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills6.
