Production Sample Maker – Furniture Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Sample Maker to join our furniture manufacturing team at Crown Furniture Manufacture Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Meru, Selangor. As a Production Sample Maker, you will play a crucial role in our production and planning operations by creating high-quality sample furniture pieces that serve as prototypes for our manufacturing processes. Your work will directly influence production efficiency, quality standards, and the successful launch of new furniture designs. This position is essential to bridging the gap between design concepts and full-scale production, ensuring that all furniture meets our exacting standards before mass manufacturing begins.

Key responsibilities

Create and fabricate furniture samples and prototypes according to design specifications and technical drawings

Operate and maintain various woodworking and furniture manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently

Conduct quality inspections on sample pieces to identify defects, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement

Document sample production processes and findings to support continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with design and production teams to troubleshoot technical issues and optimise manufacturing methods

Prepare detailed reports on sample testing, material performance, and production feasibility

Maintain accurate records of sample specifications, modifications, and production timelines

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all manufacturing processes

Contribute to the planning and scheduling of sample production to meet project deadlines

Provide feedback to improve product designs based on practical manufacturing experience



What we're looking for

Proven experience in furniture manufacturing or cabinet-making, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a similar production role

Strong proficiency in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools used in furniture production

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing blueprints accurately

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work consistently

Solid understanding of furniture materials, finishes, and assembly techniques

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve production challenges

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

Familiarity with production planning and scheduling processes in manufacturing environments

Certification in woodworking, furniture manufacturing, or relevant trade qualifications (preferred)

Knowledge of quality control standards and best practices in manufacturing (preferred)

Basic computer literacy and experience with production management software (preferred)
