Research Analyst – Mandarin/Japanese and English

Required Day to Day Responsibilities:

Conduct media and Internet searches on companies and individuals in Mandarin/Japanese and English languages

To investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals

To analyse the collected information with a view to reputational, financial and integrity risk (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.)

To prepare comprehensive reports in English which are:

in a standardized format - in accordance with our internal Research Methodology and Style Guide

Meeting client specific requirements

delivered on time

Liaise with third-party local partners (verification of provided information, placing it in a report)

Work optimally within teams or by yourself, be proactive to identify and resolve problems

Document policies, procedures and work processes

Adherent to current data policies and procedures

Backup other analysts in the team during their absence



Required Skills (Must Have)

Good written English.

Native-level or full professional proficiency in Japanese is required or Native or full professional proficiency in English and Mandarin, as this role requires extensive reading in these languages and may involve interactions with clients of these languages.

For Japanese Language, as the role involves extensive daily reading in Japanese, JLPT N1 is preferred, though candidates without this certification will also be considered. JLPT N3 or N2 are also welcome to apply as long as you can converse, writing and read fluently in Japanese Language and English Language

Strong research skills, including online search tools

Microsoft Office Skills – Outlook, Word, Excel

Work experience in due diligence, KYC or compliance is desirable



Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in relevant courses.

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in international relations, political science, legal studies or business management are an advantage and preferable.

Training will be provided for fresh graduates.

This role is on blended work model with 3 days working in office and 2 days remotely.



Salary Package: Depends on skills and experiences

Mandarin Language Research Analyst: RM 3000 - RM 4000

Japanese Language Research Analyst: RM 3500 - RM 7000
