Job Description
PURPOSE
Sales Engineer is accountable for profitable revenue and growth for the assigned product line (Solar PV / renewable energy) of the business and drive the sales development of the portfolio - grow, expand and maintain revenues and number of customers within Malaysia.
Develop innovative sales and marketing techniques and coordinate with internal and external service providers to provide quality service.
Evaluates the industry players, market and regulatory environment to anticipate potential for sales entry/growth and ensure appropriate sales strategy alignment in line with these opportunities

SPECIAL CHALLANGE (IF ANY)
Secure new sales in a new market for the company and achieve an optimum balance between sales revenue and margins for both Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions.
Provide effective and reliable technical and sales support to customers to build confidence in adopting Solar PV and BESS technologies, while maintaining strong relationships to ensure long-term customer loyalty.
Actively drive business development to penetrate existing and new customer segments for Solar PV and BESS solutions, in competition with other established providers in the market.
Customer-focused, with the ability to propose integrated Solar PV and BESS solutions that meet client needs despite challenges such as site conditions, government regulations, and budget constraints.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drive sales from a selected group of targeted clients. Establishes an in-depth knowledge of competitive pricing, market rates, and market dynamics to assure an acceptable win rate at acceptable margins.
Understand the clients’ business needs and develop innovative value-added solutions and cost-effective recommendations to exceed the clients’ needs.
Manage proposal costs and deadlines. Coordinate project delivery and proposal teams with clear communication according to client requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners in providing engineering, construction and professional consulting services in a trusted advisory role.
Proactively network with clients, business partners and industry partners to understand the market trends, needs and future opportunities that creates a Return on the Investment.
Maintain awareness of industry economic information and project development information such as interconnection applications within targeted geographic regions. Identify the right business partner to work together including vendors, consultants and leads.
Work well in a matrixed work environment, interacting with both business development and operations teams, as well as maintaining close communications with the client to understand their needs effectively.
Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure that customer needs are being met in regards to all product requirements / projects / issues management. Handle customer problems / complaints and provide response to customer inquiries on product information, pricing and distribution.
Monitor market trends for Solar PV and BESS, including competitor activities, and perform regular SWOT analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies, collateral, and customer engagement initiatives for Solar PV and BESS solutions.
Interfaces with customers in a professional and effective manager to update them on the project status and/or to resolve problems/issue.
Any other roles as assigned by Line Manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
Recognized tertiary qualification In Engineering / Business Management and at least 3 - 5 years relevant commercial sales experience.
Proactive, driven, creative, and passionate about Solar PV systems and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions.
Strong sales and business development track record in Solar PV, BESS, or the renewable energy industry.
Experienced in tender and bidding for new projects, strong background in system integration sales in construction and engineering line is highly advantageous.
Good organization skills, multi project management knowledge. ▪ Excellent communication and relationship building skills
