1. Position Summary

The Senior Application Support role is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing legacy enterprise applications across multiple platforms including HP-UX, Windows Server, and Oracle environments. The role ensures system stability, performance, and reliability while troubleshooting issues, maintaining databases, and supporting ongoing improvements to application functionality. This position collaborates closely with business users and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and operational continuity

2. Key Responsibilities

Core Technical Tasks:

•

Provide application development, maintenance, and support for enterprise systems across HP-UX, Windows Server, and Oracle environments.

•

Troubleshoot and develop applications using Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle Pro*C, Microsoft Visual FoxPro, Microsoft Access, Gupta SQLWindows, and Clipper.

•

Maintain and support Oracle Database 8/9 and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

•

Manage and automate server-side processes on HP Unix Server B11.31 and Windows Server NT/2000/2003.

•

Implement and maintain OpenSSH to ensure secure communications and system access.

Project & Strategy

•

Contribute to enhancement initiatives and system improvements for legacy applications.

•

Participate in modernization or migration projects involving legacy systems moving to newer platforms or technologies.

Security & Compliance

•

Ensure secure system connectivity and communication through OpenSSH implementation and management.

•

Support adherence to internal IT operational policies and system reliability standards.

Collaboration & Support

•

Work closely with business users and cross-functional teams to identify issues, clarify requirements, and deliver solutions.

•

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application incidents and operational issues.

Documentation

•

Maintain documentation for application configurations, workflows, troubleshooting procedures, and system support activities.

•

Ensure proper documentation for knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

4. Required Qualifications

•

Experience: Minimum 2 years in application development or support roles.

•

Technical Skills:

o

HP-UX Server B11.31 and Unix Shell Scripting.

o

Microsoft Windows Server NT 4.0/2000 SP4/2003.

o

Microsoft Visual FoxPro 6.0/7.0 and Microsoft Access 2000.

o

Gupta SQLWindows 5.0 and Clipper.

o

Oracle Pro*C and Oracle Database 8/9.

o

Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.

o

OpenSSH for secure file transfers.

•

Basic understanding of application deployment and version control practices.

•

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
