Job Description
Job Title:- Statutory Analyst
Location:- Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
Role Summary: -
As a Statutory Analyst, you will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis mainly on Statutory Reporting per Local Requirement.
Specific Responsibilities: -
The Statutory Analyst will be responsible for all the tasks and activities related to GFO with a strong focus on accounting entries and analysis.
Essential Responsibilities: -
Responsible for general accounting and policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc.
Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.
Develop elaborated proposals for changing processes and procedures assessing the impact on directly related processes/functions.
Ability to communicate the broader picture to the team. Use of basic influencing skills to deliver on assigned goals.
Service unit providing services to the function or directly to the business.
Handles department work guided by procedures. Exceptional cases are resolved by choosing the right procedure.
Being the focal for assigned statutory audits between the Company stakeholders and External Auditors.
Preparing the audit pack as well as audit schedules prior to submission to External Auditors.
Preparing the Financial Statements prior to submission to External Auditors.
Contributes to centralized finance system (CFIN) project as a team member.
Working closely with business: Regional Stat Leaders, Legal, Tax, FP&A and other Functional Teams etc to ensure the audits are completed as per stipulated timeline.
Working independently on daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Works closely with External and Internal Auditors to assist in completion of all audits.
Any other duties as required.
Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies):-
Years of experience: 4-6 years
Field of experience: Finance / Statutory Audit/ Accounting
Technical Skills: Financial analysis & reporting, Accounting Standards knowledge (IFRS / GAAP)
Soft Skills: Critical thinking, Problem Solving and adaptability
Tools or Software (Required): SAP or Oracle, Excel, HFM
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
Industry Background or Experience (Required): Finance, Shared services
Target Companies: Shared Services of any company and audit / professional firms (e.g. PWX, EY, Deloitte)
Off-limits Companies: KPMG
Required Accreditations / Qualifications / Certification / Licenses including driving License: N/A
Desirable attributes of the worker (Experience / Skills / Competencies):-
Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
ACCA/CPA/ CIMA professional qualification will be an added advantage.
