Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Budgeting: Develop and manage the hotel's budget, working closely with various departments to allocate resources appropriately.

b. Cost Analysis: Conduct regular cost analyses to identify areas where the hotel can optimize spending and improve cost-effectiveness.

c. Variance Analysis: Monitor actual expenses against budgeted amounts and analyze variances. Provide explanations for any discrepancies and work with relevant departments to address issues.

d. Inventory Control: Oversee and manage inventory levels for food and beverage, supplies, and other consumables. Implement controls to prevent waste and pilferage.

e. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports related to costs and budgets for management review. Communicate financial information effectively to assist decision-making.

f. Forecasting: Assist in financial forecasting, predicting future costs based on historical data and industry trends.

g. Menu Engineering: Collaborate with the culinary and food and beverage teams to optimize menu pricing, considering ingredient costs, preparation time, and market demand.

h. Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and industry standards related to cost control and financial management.

i. Training: Train and educate staff in various departments on cost control measures and the importance of financial responsibility.

j. Benchmarking: Compare the hotel's financial performance against industry benchmarks and competitors, identifying areas for improvement.

k. Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to cost control policies and procedures.

l. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments, including finance, operations, and procurement, to achieve overall business objectives.

m. Technology Utilization: Utilize technology and software tools for financial analysis, reporting, and budget management.

n. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cost control processes and implement best practices.
