AutoCAD Drafting & Documentation Management

1. Position Overview

This position serves as a key technical member of the company, responsible for providing full-cycle technical support and management from project initiation to final handover. You will act as a technical bridge between the company, suppliers/manufacturers, and the client (main contractor/owner), ensuring that all aspects of window and door engineering—including detailed design, material ordering, production, site installation, and documentation—comply with technical standards, design drawings, and project timelines. Strong CAD skills, documentation capabilities, and cross-cultural communication are essential for success in this role.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Design Management

Review and develop detailed drawings based on the client’s window and door design, producing construction-ready drawings for fabrication and installation.

Use CAD and other design software to independently draft, revise, and update all technical drawings.

Prepare and compile as-built drawings and technical documentation, ensuring full accuracy with on-site conditions.

2. Ordering & Technical Review

Conduct final technical review of detailed drawings before issuing orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Based on approved drawings, issue formal fabrication orders to suppliers/manufacturers, clearly specifying technical parameters, material standards, and delivery timelines.

3. Construction Support & Supervision

Provide technical briefings to on-site installation teams, ensuring they fully understand design intent, technical points, and installation requirements.

Supervise the installation process for windows and doors, checking quality and progress compliance with design specifications and technical standards, and correcting deviations promptly.

4. Communication & Coordination

Act as the primary technical liaison with suppliers/manufacturers, addressing technical issues arising during production.

Communicate with the client’s technical representatives on all technical or quantity-related matters, including clarifications, variation confirmations, and quantity verification.

Participate in technical meetings, report progress, and coordinate resolution of on-site technical challenges.

5. Documentation & File Management

Systematically archive, organize, and manage all project technical documents (drawings, variations, communication records, quantity documentation, etc.) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and traceability.

Build and maintain the project’s technical documentation database.

Settlement Documentation

After completing the as-built drawings, prepare and verify settlement documentation to avoid omissions or errors.

3. Qualifications

Required Skills:

Proficient in AutoCAD, capable of independently developing detailed construction drawings.

Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools for preparing technical reports, BOQs, and presentations.

Excellent written and spoken Chinese for effective communication with Chinese management and suppliers.

Basic English communication skills for interaction with local clients and site teams.

Experience & Competencies:

Experience in façade, windows & doors, or related technical fields, with knowledge of production workflow, installation procedures, and technical standards.

Strong drawing interpretation skills, drafting ability, and spatial visualization.

Detail-oriented, responsible, principled, and able to work under pressure.

Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities; able to work in a cross-cultural environment.

4. Performance Evaluation

Your performance will be holistically evaluated by multiple parties to ensure fairness and accuracy:

Client’s Technical Supervisor: Evaluates communication effectiveness, responsiveness, and cooperation satisfaction.

Suppliers/Manufacturers: Evaluates clarity and accuracy of technical orders and smoothness of collaboration.

Direct Supervisor: Assesses work quality, efficiency, initiative, and teamwork.

Quantitative Work Indicators: Such as drawing accuracy, ordering error rate, issue closure rate, and completeness of documentation.
