Food & Beverage Specialist (Host/Hostess)
Soori Penang is a new ultra-luxury heritage hotel in the heart of George Town. We are looking for a warm, polished and service-focused F&B Specialist to be the first point of contact for our dining guests, while also delivering attentive and personalised table service. This is a hybrid role where hosting and service are equally important, contributing to a seamless, refined and memorable dining experience within our restaurant and lounge spaces.



Key Responsibilities
Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival, ensuring a memorable first impression aligned with the hotel’s service standards.
Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and waitlists with efficiency and attention to detail.
Escort guests to their tables and introduce dining concepts, menus, and experiences.
Deliver attentive and professional table service, ensuring a seamless and personalised dining experience.
Coordinate closely with service, culinary, and guest relations teams to ensure smooth service flow and alignment with guest preferences.
Maintain awareness of in-house guests, VIPs, and special occasions to personalise the dining experience.
Monitor dining room activity to anticipate guest needs and optimise seating capacity.
Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and feedback with discretion and professionalism.
Assist in beverage preparation, including coffee, tea, and selected alcoholic beverages, when required.
Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of reception, dining, and entrance areas at all times.
Assist in coordinating special occasions, VIP guests, and bespoke dining experiences.
Uphold the hotel’s brand values, service culture, and guest experience at all times.


Requirements
Background in hospitality, preferably within hotels, luxury dining, or guest-facing roles.
Experience in both guest hosting and food & beverage service is highly preferred.
Basic knowledge of beverage preparation (coffee, tea, and alcoholic drinks) is an advantage.
Well-presented, warm, and confident with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a refined, fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
