Responsibilities
-Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, help the pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients and consumers.
-Review order list and create daily workload, identify “Add-on” orders and add them to the workload while matching compounded products against outgoing orders.
-Responsible for collection, organisation, and evaluation of patient information, management of medication distribution, and providing drug information and education to the patient or consumer. The compounding pharmacy technician will be given the task of preparing, dispensing, distributing, and administering medications under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.
-Ensure all raw materials are stored under appropriate storage conditions. Identify medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receive, check-in, and restock medications ordered through wholesaler and other vendors. Assess practical ways to deal with shorted items and short-dated or unusable items.
-Assist pharmacists in placing orders and delivery of medication.
-Carry out general clerical work such as typing, filling, patients’ data entry and keeping accurate records of transcription.
-Attend to doctors/patients and answer phone calls in a courteous and timely manner. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. May also take requests for prescription refills and obtain necessary authorizations.
-Ensure compliance with company practice, policies and procedures.
-Work together with all team members to promote a community of cooperation and respect.
