Production Planner

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling production schedules. This role ensures, procurement, and warehouse functions. The position requires optimum utilization of resources, timely order fulfilment, and alignment between production proficiency, strong analytical ability, and deep understanding of manufacturing processes. The Production Planner must balance efficiency with delivery schedule—planning to meet customer deadline and mitigate supply chain disruptions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Develop and issue detailed production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and material availability.
-Monitor daily production progress, identify bottlenecks, and adjust schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
-Communicate requirements and capacities to relevant departments and colleagues, ensuring strong institutional awareness, smooth workflow and compliance with quality standards.
-Set up capacity and prepare daily production plans
-Evaluating and analysing production statistics to optimise productivity.
-Forecasting the production needs based on historical data and market trends.
-Collaborating with other departments like sales, supply chain and operations to align with production plans.
-Coordinating and planning production processes for efficient operations.
-Managing material resources and inventories to ensure smooth production flow.
-Identifying potential obstacles in the production process and strategizing solutions.
-Monitoring and adjusting schedules as needed to meet product delivery deadlines.
-Update and maintain accurate production data.
-Analyze production trends, capacity utilization, and lead times to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
-Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal SOPs.
-Prepare production performance reports and variance analysis for management review.
-Undertake job transfers or ad-hoc assignments when required by business needs.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

-Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience (Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, or related field)
-Experience: minimum 2 years of experience in production planning within the manufacturing industry
-Proficiency with production planning software and tools / ERP system / relevant software
-Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
-Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills
-Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills. Ability to communicate appropriately and confidently with external and internal stakeholders at all levels via both telephone and face-to-face.
-Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
-Understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows
-Attention to detail and commitment to quality, result-driven, high competency, and agile in a dynamic working environment.
