Company Profile

Intel Technology Sdn. Bhd. is a cornerstone of Malaysia’s electrical and electronics (E&E) ecosystem and a vital component of Intel Corporation’s global manufacturing and R&D network. Since its inception in Penang in 1972 (incorporated in 1977), Intel Malaysia has evolved from a simple assembly plant into a high-tech powerhouse. The Malaysian operations represent one of Intel’s most complex and diverse sites, specializing in Advanced Semiconductor Packaging, Die Sort, and Board Assembly. Notably, the site hosts the Intel Design and Development Centre, where thousands of local engineers contribute to the design of next-generation microprocessors, chipsets, and SOCs (System-on-Chip). With the massive multi-billion dollar expansion in the Pelican and Falcon projects—including the revolutionary 3D Foveros packaging technology—Intel Malaysia continues to lead the way in Moore’s Law innovation, solidifying Penang’s reputation as the "Silicon Valley of the East."
