GUPPY, a name widely known as the leader in plastic engineering, started its humble beginning in 1963 with a small business ignited by their fond interest in fish rearing. As their business grow rapidly, founders Mr. KG Ng and Mr. CP Goh faced difficulty in attaining plastic aquarium equipment. They immediately seized this opportunity to manufacture the products they needed which led to the birth of Guppy Plastics in 1970. With its headquarter in Selangor, factories and plants in Penang, Selangor and Melaka, Guppy has rapidly grown into an established company that comprises multiple businesses under its umbrella. In 2022, Mizuho Asia Partners made a strategic investment in Guppy, and became a controlling shareholder of the company.
