Established more than 40 years ago, EcoOils is a regional leading waste oil manufacturer. EcoOils distinguishes itself by deploying cutting-edge recycling technology to divert waste away from landfills while simultaneously generating spent bleaching earth oil (SBEO) and diversifying to other globally recognized biofuels feedstock with ISCC certification. SBEO holds immense potential in the production of sustainable, low-carbon fuels. This feedstock serves as a foundation for producing sustainable, biofuels through our five state-of-the-art facilities situated in Malaysia and Indonesia. In November 2022, Shell Eastern Petroleum Pte. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shell plc (Shell), acquired EcoOils. This strategic acquisition aligns with Shell’s commitment to invest in and produce sustainable, low-carbon transport fuels. EcoOils will manufacture and supply high-quality, advanced feedstock compatible with Shell’s biofuel facilities, supporting our mutual objective of providing cleaner energy solutions. With a robust presence spanning over 125 years in Malaysia and Indonesia, Shell’s operations encompass a diverse range of business interests. These include gas exploration and production, retail service stations, and an expanding focus on cleaner energy alternatives.
