Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineer to join our team at Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The IT Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, supporting hardware and software systems, and maintaining network security and performance. This role requires a problem-solver with excellent technical knowledge and the ability to provide solutions to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management:
Manage, maintain, and upgrade IT systems, including servers, networks, and hardware.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
Ensure minimal downtime by proactively monitoring system performance.
Network and Security:
Configure, monitor, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPN connections.
Implement and manage firewalls, antivirus software, and other security measures to safeguard the company's data.
Regularly back up data and conduct recovery tests.
Technical Support:
Provide first and second-level IT support to employees for hardware, software, and application-related issues.
Install and configure IT equipment such as PCs, printers, and peripherals.
System Upgrades and Maintenance:
Research and recommend new IT technologies to improve business operations.
Plan and execute hardware and software updates or replacements.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies and industry standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to identify IT needs and implement effective solutions.
Coordinate with external vendors for technical support and procurement of IT resources.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of IT management experience, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics sector.
Proven track record in implementing and managing IT infrastructure, ERP systems, and cybersecurity measures.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in network administration, database management, and system troubleshooting.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
Knowledge of IT security protocols, cloud computing, and virtualization technologies.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Language:
Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of other languages (e.g., Mandarin) is an advantage.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.
Experience in managing Windows and Linux-based systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and equipment (routers, switches).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and data backup solutions.
Soft Skills:
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
