Job Description
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Co-Curricular will:
Develop and enact a compelling strategic vision for a high quality co-curricular programme.
Design a broad and balanced programme for extra-curricular activities across multiple disciplines to provide inclusive and developmental learning opportunities for students.
Oversee the timetabling and staffing of the co-curricular program.
Set the calendar for scheduling of the programmes to ensure effective coordination across the school.
Directs, administers and controls the day-to-day operations and activities of programmes and facilities.
Manage co-curricular budgets in all areas and liaise with the finance and purchasing team in this process.
Lead in the preparation of the budget to ensure that the programmes are well supported and resourced.
Provide opportunities for all staff to make a positive contribution to the wider life of the school.
Analyse provision so that the programme serves the interests of all students as part of the school’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
Manage recruitment of external providers involved in the delivery of the co-curricular program.
Develop a strong and robust communications process with parents, students and staff.
Direct oversight of applying safeguarding procedures and risk assessment to ensure appropriate duty of care for all students.
Establish, revise and update rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the daily operational requirements for co-curricular activities.
Ensure all vendors comply with and abide by the school’s safeguarding policies and protocols.
Be proficient in the use of the management system for delivering the co-curricular programme.
Monitor and review the co-curricular activities to ensure that provision is high quality.
Engage in collaborative evaluative practices to construct shared insights.
Organise appropriate professional development of staff in the co-curricular program to provide opportunities to enhance and develop their skills further.
Manage and review the CCA team appraisal processes, leave and other logistics.
Recognise, celebrate and communicate students’ personal accomplishments in co-curricular activities linked to the GIS Learner Skills.
Be actively engaged in developing networks and partnerships with associations and organisations.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of school objectives.
Promote and represent the CCAs through parent presentations, community workshops, and public engagement to strengthen participation, understanding and support for the school’s wider learning opportunities.
