As our Senior Process Engineer ( Injection Molding ) you’ll support HID’s success by:

Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for plastic injection molding operations, supervising setup/process tech, material handler, mold setup, ensuring press and robot functionality, and following up on production efficiency and quality. Lead for process development for new project as well as continues improvement on current production. Lead process improvements, maintain documentation (SPC, cycle sheets, logs), track daily production orders, and drive 6S implementation. The role requires collaboration with the team on tooling, materials, and continuous optimization. Secondary tasks include quick troubleshooting, mold improvements, and other assigned responsibilities. It is expected to be the driving force with a systematic approach to develop IM Manufacturing to world class standards.

Responsibilities:


Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
New Process Development (hand’s on) & continues process improvement. Ensures that yield and press efficiency targets are met. Resolves all problems required to manufacture parts as per targets set by adhering to ISO and 6S procedures and principles.
Advise process technicians and provide guidelines for setup/techs to optimize the process.
Leads Injection Molding manufacturing activities associated with new and continuous improvement (CI) process. Follows established product procedures and makes recommendations for process improvements when appropriate.
Maintains knowledge of SPC in the interest of maintaining quality and reducing scrap. Also establishes SPC control limits. SOP, WI, Analyzes Product, and Aesthetic SPC trends and use them for process improvement.
Provides technical support and assistance to others. Share knowledge about products, applications, processes, materials and tools with team members and others.
Samples new tools and materials with setup techs when required. Analyzes, optimizes and documents the process.
To take up new responsibilities as and when required to do so.
Responsible to manage setup/process tech on parameter setup (as per cycle sheet) & machine startup.
Verify all quality aspect meeting requirement & monitor closely, including yield update.
Cycle sheet - update each time running production.
Follow up on SPC implementation/recording.
Track daily production order and work on improvement to eliminate any variances.
Lead production team on daily activities and ensure the quality of part produced meets specifications and maintains the 6’s implementation
Closely follow up on production schedule achieve low downtime and rejection rate.
Responsible & working closely with a tooling engineer for new tools, modification, improvement, transfer and new material development.
Qualifications


Good understanding of production / manufacturing equipment and processes.
Molding process knowledge with hands on, vertical injections or insert/over-mold process will be an advantage.
Scientific molding techniques knowledge – an advantage.

Education and/or Experience

Diploma/Vocational/Certificate in Technical academic or technically related field.
Interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Plastic Injection Molding and having knowledge of scientific molding process & 6 sigma and Lean Manufacturing will be an advantage.
Leadership - Lead production team (e.g. Training, Mentoring setup/process tech, MH & operators)
Plastic injection molding mold set-up, startup & monitor production (vertical + insert/over-molding)- an advantage
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Essential for troubleshooting and making process improvements – an advantage
Language Skills


Excellent communication skills in English verbally and in writing.
Able to communicate in Malay language.
Computer Skills


Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
