Position Title : English Translation Annotator (Mandarin-English / 中英文)

Work Location : Georgetown Penang

Working Hours : Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented English Translation Annotator to support translation and language annotation tasks related to social media and user-generated content. The role requires strong bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English, along with familiarity with popular social media platforms and internet slang.



Key Responsibilities:

Translate content accurately between Mandarin and English (中英翻译)

Annotate and review translations to ensure linguistic accuracy, contextual appropriateness, and natural usage

Interpret and label social media content, including slang, abbreviations, and trending expressions

Ensure consistency with project guidelines and quality standards

Flag unclear or confusing content and provide appropriate annotations or explanations

Collaborate with project managers and quality reviewers to improve annotation accuracy



Requirements:

Strong proficiency in both Mandarin and English (written and reading)

Familiarity with RedNote (Xiaohongshu) and TikTok social media terminology, including common social media slang and trends (网络用语)

Background in a language school, linguistics, translation, or related field

High attention to detail and ability to follow annotation guidelines precisely

Have understanding of internet culture and online communication styles
