Senior Procurement Specialist (Indirect Sourcing | AWS)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for all indirect procurement activities within the Ipoh factory and for the company division. You will source goods and services within assigned indirect categories, collaborate with global category and country procurement organizations, lead savings projects, manage supplier relationships and support supply base rationalization activities, create synergies and drive sustainable compliance improvements that are aligned with local and regional needs.

Responsibilities

Lead cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for RFQs, process optimisation, CAPEX investments, supplier renegotiation, TCO initiatives, and agreeing implementation within the country.

Lead contract negotiations for procurement projects and contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms.

Facilitate communication between the Ipoh factory, division and central category management teams to ensure alignment and implementation of global procurement strategies.

Outsource vs insource analysis and dialogue on core capabilities and in/outsourcing activities together with negotiation and implementation of those with functional partners.

Source and control supply of goods and services as per division needs. Monitor suppliers’ performance and support escalations as required.

Perform transactional and operational activities required by function according to valid purchasing policies.

Build and maintain strong local relationships with preferred suppliers, ensuring high levels of collaboration and mutual benefit along with supplier consolidation and tail spend reduction.

Support key supplier development initiatives, including risk mitigation strategies (together with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and continuous improvement efforts.

Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to both company internal policies and local legal requirements, including adherence to company Supplier Code of Conduct.

Work closely with finance, operations, and other relevant departments to align procurement activities with business needs. Promote and increase procurement process awareness across functions.

Identify inefficiencies in local procurement processes and work with the procurement teams to implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency.

Support the Ipoh factory team in implementing procurement best practices, including process standardisation and tool utilisation together with the direct sourcing team.

Provide regular reporting to Ipoh plant director and controllers on procurement performance, highlighting key achievements, risks, and areas for improvement against targets for cost, quality, and delivery.

Ensure transparency in procurement activities by using digital procurement systems and tools to streamline procurement workflows and increase transparency in procurement activities. Influencer & Relationship Manager

Closely collaborate with business stakeholders at all levels ensuring impactful category strategy and savings action implementation.

Effectively communicate sourcing strategies, plans and results to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in.

Proactively identify and address stakeholder needs and concerns ensuring compliance whilst supporting business growth and flexibility. Process Improvement & Innovation:

Manage procurement metrics and KPIs, developing dashboards to track sourcing performance on a country and regional level.

Promote and drive improvements in the source-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, invoicing, and payment to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and PO compliance.

Together with sourcing digitalisation and IM drive the development, implementation and utilisation of both new and existing sourcing tools and technologies to simplify processes and enable efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering or related field is a MUST

At least 3 years of experience in Procurement and/or Strategic Sourcing is a MUST

Experience in leading sourcing projects. Process improvement projects

Strategic sourcing experience within a global multi-site and cross-functional environment

Working experience and successfully completed strategic sourcing cost optimization initiatives (practical knowledge on Total Cost of Ownership model and procurement cost levers) is MUST

Basic financial acumen required to conduct procurement and business impact analyses (including how procurement activities impact P&L) is MUST
