The position is based in our Penang Office in Malaysia.

Job Overview

You will be responsible to manage building maintenance and upkeep, safety and security, and carpark management as well as monitoring of the monthly budget to ensure that the overall operations are running smoothly consistent with the Company’s SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule and oversee all major overhaul and special maintenance works, including projects involving capital expenditure, building and carpark maintenance activities and up-keep of the physical building and its common areas

Liaise with various local authorities on building, carpark and safety issues as well as to apply for licenses in compliance with the regulatory requirements

Lead, direct and guide the team to ensure smooth running of the department and supervise staff to ensure departmental documentations are well maintained and provide the necessary reports and updates to Management on maintenance activities

Manage approved monthly budgets, authorize department expenditures and monitor profit and loss statements to minimize variances, as well as to identify and ensure execution of cost savings activities so as to enhance profit

Carry out regular inspections of building and all the related services, provide technical expertise/ inputs as well as to take corrective maintenance actions on all faulty or damaged items

Negotiate, forecast, control and review all service agreements/contracts in accordance with the established policies and procedures

Develop and maintain security & safety strategies as well as policies & procedures so as to protect the company's properties and ensure the safety of public, shoppers, tenants and employees



Requirements

A Bachelor Degree or Professional Certificate in Building Maintenance & Management, Building Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience, ideally 3 years out of which is in a managerial role

Responsible, pleasant and independent personality

Able to work as a team, self-disciplined and self-driven

Candidates must be a Malaysian
