Job Responsibility

Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis or 5-axis CNC milling machines according to procedures, programs and engineering drawings to manufacture machined parts efficiently and to technical specifications production standards and safety protocol.

Adhere to WI for performing and overseeing machines processes.

Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.

Responsible in CNC machine setup for junior level CNC Machinists to help eliminate non-conformance and machine down time.

Provide troubleshooting support for machinists and subordinate levels. Ensure precise machine setup and operation in accordance with SFD specifications for effective troubleshooting.

Address and escalate the issues related to machine performance, quality defects and production delays. complex adjustment, troubleshoot and significant modifications to machines for further analysis and strategic resolution.

Performs detailed inspections in accordance with engineering drawings to ensure all components meet the specified design criteria and quality standards.

Use prescribed procedures to inspect parts produced to assure compliance with specifications and quality requirements that will eliminate defects, scrap and rework.

Maintain machine and equipment in an orderly condition daily and report defective machine, equipment, materials and/ or faulty operations to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Provide on the job training and guidance for junior level CNC Machinists to complete their job efficiently.

Guide and oversee CNC Machinist and junior level adherence to quality standards are achieved and the production processes to ensure efficient workflow and optimal utilization of resources.

Perform cutter adjustments either by tool offset, geometry offset or physical sizing of boring bars at the machine.

Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

Perform in-process quality check on partially finished and finished parts using designated measuring equipment and devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge, thread gauge, pin gauge, vision measuring machine and other measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Update and communicate the production output status for the shift to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Communicate effectively with CNC Programmers, Supervisors and/or other CNC Machinists during problem resolution and instructions.

Communicate the status of all jobs in flow at shift change to ensure a continued and smooth workflow.

Follow safety procedures and company policies for machine operation.

Maintain the work area to be safe, adherence to the mandatory use of PPE and organized by following the safety and health standards and procedures and practicing 5S.

To work with the maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance of machine is carried out timely.

In order to apply for this position, it will be added advantages if you possessed below requirements:

Certificate / Diploma in Precision Machining / Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Extensive knowledge of functioning, setting up and operating of the 3-axis, 4-axis and/ or 5-axis CNC machines.

Strong understanding of Geometrical Dimensional & Tolerances.

Strong in mathematical skills.

Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings.

Skills in recognizing improper functioning of machine and/or cutting actions of tools.

Capable to use common measuring equipment.
