Assistant Venue Manager
Welcome to the Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur family. Now that you are part of our family, let’s explain the role you will play.

Our mission is to be the best loved Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Company so regardless of position we look for individuals to join our family who are passionate about providing genuine heartfelt care to our guests, colleagues, owners and communities.

WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY BE DOING?

Our hotel, restaurants and bars are only as good as the people it employs, that’s why we picked you. You’re outgoing and you love to meet new people. You’re passionate, focused and driven about making every guest’s experience ‘ridiculously personal’, making their visit unforgettable, in all the right ways.

You've proven you can succeed in a fast-paced, guest-focused, no two days the same environment, and we will offer you plenty of opportunities to find your niche and grow. It’s your creativity and flair that we like, and we know you are going to make our business a real success.

You’ll be working with a friendly, motivated team who you will recruit and lead with your distinctive style and work with them to develop their full potential and ensure everyone provides genuine heartfelt care to our guests. You will also work alongside our Chefs and F&B team, and we know that between you all we will really make a name for ourselves.

Support the Venue Manager in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional service standards and smooth shift execution.

Lead shifts confidently, motivating and coaching the team while maintaining Kimpton's culture of genuine, heartfelt hospitality.

Deliver memorable guest experiences by engaging with guests, anticipating their needs, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally.

Assist in scheduling team members to ensure appropriate staffing levels based on business demands.

Monitor daily operations, maintaining cleanliness, presentation, food safety, and brand standards throughout the restaurant.

Support inventory management by monitoring operating supplies, beverages, and restaurant equipment, reporting variances or maintenance requirements.

Assist with cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations, and compliance with company policies and operating procedures.

Conduct daily pre-service briefings and communicate service priorities, promotions, VIP arrivals, and operational updates.

Coach, train and develop team members through ongoing feedback and on-the-job learning, helping create a positive, engaged and high-performing culture.

Work closely with the culinary and bar teams to ensure seamless coordination of food and beverage service.

Monitor guest feedback, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner with the Venue Manager to implement solutions that enhance guest satisfaction.

Support initiatives to drive revenue, maximize productivity, control operating costs and achieve departmental goals.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, responsible service of alcohol, and company policies at all times.

Stay informed about local dining trends, seasonal offerings and competitor activity to help deliver fresh and engaging guest experiences.

Act as Manager on Duty for the venue in the absence of the Venue Manager, ensuring operational excellence and effective decision-making.

It’s a physical role and although there are the usual meetings, briefings and of course emails to check, you will be on your feet most of the day out and about chatting with your guests and your team, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. We would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential.
