Job Description
1. Strategic Planning & Business Planning
Lead the development and coordination of UDA’s Group Strategic Plan (GSP), annual Strategic Priorities, and selected strategic reviews.
Conduct macroeconomic analysis, industry benchmarking, and scenario forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Lead the coordination and review of the Group’s annual Business Plan and Budget cycle, including strategic assumptions, planning inputs, prioritisation considerations, and management presentation materials.
Align divisional strategies and KPIs with national policies (e.g. RMK12, NIMP 2030, MADANI Economy) and UDA’s corporate purpose.
2. Strategic Analysis & Business Case Evaluation
Perform financial and commercial assessments of business proposals, feasibility studies, and investment initiatives, including NPV, IRR, ROI, and sensitivity analysis.
Review submissions from divisions and provide structured analysis, insights and recommendations to Management.
Ensure proposals are aligned with Group strategy, financial targets, and risk parameters.
3. Corporate Transformation, Business & Operating Model Design
Design and facilitate enterprise transformation initiatives focused on growth, governance, and impact.
Evaluate business and operating models and recommend structure, process, and people improvements for better strategic fit.
Lead the assessment of M&A opportunities, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and other corporate exercises by reviewing strategic fit, market positioning, key risks, and value creation potential.
Prepare and present strategic papers, management reports, and executive summaries to Management, GMC, and other relevant platforms, where required.
4. Advisory & Strategic Insights
Provide strategic advisory support to the Management, including strategic proposals, papers and policy briefs.
Coordinate the annual Corporate Retreat, strategic deep dives, and strategic alignment sessions with top leadership.
5. Strategic Engagements & Policy Alignment
Represent UDA in strategic engagements with ministries, economic planning units, and external stakeholders.
Drive alignment of UDA’s strategies with national socio-economic agendas and ESG mandates.
Coordinate external reporting and inputs for government consultations, and strategic disclosures.
6. Strategic Advisory & Implementation of New Strategic Procedures
Provide strategic advice on new strategic procedures before organisation-wide rollout, ensuring alignment with UDA’s corporate objectives and governance standards.
Serve as the focal point for implementation issues or misalignments arising from the rollout of strategic procedures, coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders, and escalate important matters through the appropriate governance channel where required.
Support organisation-wide rollout through briefing sessions, stakeholder onboarding, and strategic alignment activities.
Review implementation toolkits, briefing materials, and training modules before deployment.
7. Strategic Tools, Systems & Knowledge Management
Institutionalise strategic planning tools, templates, dashboards, and frameworks across the organisation.
Build internal capability in strategic foresight, trend mapping, and performance projection.
Ensure proper documentation, dissemination, and application of strategic knowledge and decisions.
8. General Provisions
Undertake additional tasks or cross-functional duties from time to time to support organisational priorities, urgent requirements, or capacity needs, with reasonable consideration.
