Chemist / Science Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist to join our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited commercial testing laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, maintaining laboratory quality standards, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements, and delivering accurate and reliable analytical results to clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses according to established test methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and client requirements.
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, UV-Vis, FTIR, GC, HPLC, and other analytical equipment as required.
Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and calibration solutions in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Review and verify analytical data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality requirements.
Maintain laboratory records, test worksheets, calibration records, and quality control documentation.
Participate in method validation, verification, measurement uncertainty studies, and proficiency testing programs.
Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory quality management systems, and regulatory standards.
Investigate out-of-specification results, non-conformities, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation and support internal and external audits.
Ensure good laboratory practices (GLP), laboratory safety requirements, and housekeeping standards are consistently maintained.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with laboratory supervisors, quality personnel, and clients regarding testing activities and technical matters.
