Clinical Educator

Position Summary:

Teach, mentor and guide relevant nursing staff through imparting of professional healthcare knowledge and skills with the aim of ensuring positive transfer of learning to the workplace.

Anticipate, assess, and prioritize learning needs while employing flexible strategies and scheduling to meet the identified needs for all nursing staff.

Demonstrate and contribute to the achievement of clinical and service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Be responsible to work with Chief of Nursing Services /Head of training and education to plan, execute and evaluate training activities to ensure the effective delivery of training programmes to staff to provide high quality nursing care.

2. Perform training needs analysis and formulate training plans for local and external courses.

3. Collaborate with the relevant nursing team in delivering the course content to the staffs. Ensure the courses are updated with the current nursing practices.

4. Plan, deliver and evaluate orientation program and tutorial support for newly qualified staff.

5. Assist in coaching, mentoring and counseling qualified registered nurses and other nursing staff in the clinical areas.

6. Guide qualified registered nurses and nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.

7. Keep documents and records of qualified registered nurses and nursing staff's' clinical performance.

8. Create conducive learning environments in the clinical areas to ensure maximum benefits for qualified registered nurses and nursing staff.

9. Plan and conduct in-house training for Personal Care Assistants.

10. Assume the role of an educational resource person for all nurses.

11. Perform any other duties as assigned or requested.


Education and Requirements:

SRN with at least three (3) years clinical experience.

At least one post basic qualification.

A formal course in Clinical Teaching is an advantage.

Bachelors Degree strongly preferred.

Strong clinical nursing skills.

Requires a high energy, flexible individual that is a team player with strong communication and organizational skills.

Valid annual practicing certificate.
