Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Control & Savings Initiatives
-Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, material usage, scrap, yield, and efficiency variances.
-Identify cost drivers and provide recommendations to reduce production and operating costs.
-Partner with Operations and Procurement to drive cost-saving initiatives, including BOM optimization, waste reduction, and process improvement.
-Track, validate, and report cost-saving projects and performance improvements.

Product Costing & Variance Analysis
-Maintain and review standard costing, BOM, and routing data to ensure accuracy.
-Review Subsidiaries cost roll-ups and margin analysis for products, customers, and processes.
-Analyze PPV, labour and overhead absorption, manufacturing variances, and highlight abnormalities.
-Support pricing, quotation, and business case evaluation through cost simulations.
-Review Products’ Contribution Margin for margin improvement

Inventory Management & Controls
-Ensure accurate recording of inventory movements, adjustments, and valuations.
-Ensure monthly inventory reconciliation, aging, slow-moving and provision assessments.
-Work with Operations to improve cycle count / stock-take accuracy and inventory discipline.
-Support initiatives to improve inventory (DIO) turnover and working capital.

Accounts Receivable Management
-Oversee billing, collections, and credit control.
-Monitor aging reports and manage overdue accounts.
-Work with sales and operations to resolve disputes and improve cash flow.

Insurance Review
-Review and evaluate subsidiaries insurance policies for adequacy.
-Coordinate renewals and claims with brokers and insurers.
-Ensure compliance with risk management and regulatory requirements.

Operations & Process Improvement
-Support cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and waste control.
-Strengthen internal controls over inventory and production processes.
-Drive continuous improvement and best practices in costing methodology and cost monitoring.

Requirements:-
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent; CIMA professional qualification is an advantage.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting / cost control.
· Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOM, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
· Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
· Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work closely with operations teams.
· Proactive, resourceful, and able to challenge costs and drive improvement initiatives.
