Manager, Financial Accounting

General Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

· Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting.

· Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits.

2. Accounting Operations

· Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.

· Monitor and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial adjustments.

· Supervise month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

3. Leadership & Team Management

· Lead and develop a team of finance staff.

· Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and promote professional growth.

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes.

4. Budgeting & Analysis Support

· Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decisions.

· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.

5. Systems & Process Improvement

· Oversee accounting systems and ensure data integrity.

· Lead implementation or enhancement of ERP/ accounting system.

· Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.



Professional experience and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is advantageous.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operational Finance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Experience in Retail / Convenience Store / FMCG Environment will be an added advantage

Technical Skills:

Solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards
