PostgreSQL DBA

Banking Experience
• Must have a strong understanding of PostgreSQL (version 14 and above) on Linux environments
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, MVCC, WAL, and background processes
• Experience in installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching PostgreSQL databases
• Hands-on experience with high availability solutions such as Patroni and EDB Failover Manager (EFM)
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL streaming replication and distributed replication concepts
• Experience in managing large-scale OLTP production databases
• Strong experience in backup and recovery using tools like Barman, pg_basebackup,pgbackrest, and WAL archiving, including Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR)
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL partitioning and indexing strategies
• Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting using tools like EXPLAIN, pg_stat_statements
• Knowledge of connection pooling tools such as PgBouncer or Pgpool-II
• Experience in database security management including roles, privileges, SSL configuration, and auditing (e.g., pgaudit, edb_audit)
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_partman, pg_repack)
• Knowledge of data masking, encryption (TDE/SSL), and compliance requirements
• Experience with native PostgreSQL monitoring views
• Good understanding of capacity planning, storage management, and performance optimization
• Experience in handling database migrations, upgrades, and cross-platform data movement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for database and SQL performance issues
• Knowledge of cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions (AWS RDS for PostgreSQL) is an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Provide 24x7 production support and participate in on-call rotation
