Sales & Application Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Design & Costing Engineer to support our security and surveillance projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing system layouts, preparing technical proposals, and accurately estimating the cost of security solutions such as CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and integrated surveillance systems.

Responsibilities :

1. Design security system architectures including CCTV, VMS, access control, LPR parking , PIDS & ELV Systems

2. Create detailed layout drawings, device placement diagrams, and system integration plans using AutoCAD or similar tools

3. Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation based on site surveys or client specifications

4. Analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and services

5. Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to prepare techno-commercial proposals and tenders

6. Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for pricing, product specifications, and lead times

7. Support pre-sales activities such as site visits, client presentations, and solution briefings

8. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements

9. Maintain updated knowledge of security products, technologies, and integration practices

10. Review project plans to optimize cost and performance while maintaining system reliability

Skills and Ability:

1. Hands-on experience with designing systems like CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, etc.

2. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office (especially Excel), and costing tools

3. Strong understanding of project engineering, system design, and integration

4. Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

5. Excellent communication and documentation abilities

6. Knowledge of tender processes and government bidding procedures

7. Familiarity with structured cabling, networking, and power backup systems

8. In-depth knowledge of CCTV, access control, video management systems, alarms, and related technologies

9. Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and exhibitions

Qualifications and Experiences:

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering field

2. Min 1 year of experience in design, estimation, or costing in the security/surveillance industry

This position will be based in Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur.
