Job Description
Analyse, execute and evaluate insights on business performance, strategic initiatives and institutional ranking outcomes through performance analysis, benchmarking and ranking data submission, supported by targeted engagement with line departments to clarify definitions, assumptions and performance drivers, while supporting business reviews, strategic engagements and any University contribution assigned by management to strengthen institutional performance delivery, improve processes and undertake ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Performance Analysis & Evaluation
Analyse quarterly and ad-hoc performance against approved KPIs, business plans and strategic initiatives, including variance and trend analysis. Translate findings into actionable insights, recommendations and management briefs to support decision-making. Execute institutional business review exercises and develop/maintain dashboards, scorecards and analytical views to improve visibility and performance management. Execute deep-dive analysis on selected focus areas (growth, efficiency, portfolio performance, initiative delivery) and recommend improvement levers.
Data Analytics, Insight & Foresighting
Coordinate with data owners and the data collection lead to clarify definitions, assumptions and anomalies, strengthen metric definitions and calculation logic, and perform reasonableness checks to ensure consistent, high‑quality data for reporting and ranking submissions. Manage structured data calls to divisions and departments using standardised templates, definitions and timelines; validate, reconcile and resolve issues with submitted data prior to finalisation. Maintain well‑governed repositories of submissions, supporting evidence, definitions and historical datasets to ensure auditability, continuity and effective reuse.
Ranking Management - Performance Analysis & Intelligence
Conduct in‑depth analysis of institutional ranking performance across QS & THE by assessing key drivers, indicators, weightages, peer benchmarking and historical trends to generate actionable methodology intelligence. Manage and coordinate ranking data submissions by executing structured data calls, validating and reconciling inputs with data owners, and ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness of submissions. Provide insights and translate implications into data requirements, KPI alignment and targeted improvement actions.

Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities, business and management institutions, national and key industry players and service providers to keep abreast with latest development to capture new business opportunities.

Enforce the implementation of applicable PETRONAS procedures and guidelines and affect the compliance to statutory and legislative requirements to ensure conformance to the established Limits of Authority (LOA) to safeguard PETRONAS interest, image and reputation.
Codes of Conduct & Business Ethics (Cobe) and HSE Policies
Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of the objectives and provisions of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and Codes of Conduct & Business Ethics (COBE) and undertake appropriate mitigation and/or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.
Leadership and Capability Development
Drive the development of competent working team that will enhance and sustain staff capabilities in achieving high performance delivery to ensure internalization of the right leadership and capabilities in executing their jobs.
Mindset, Behaviour and Culture
Develop and implement distinctive mindset, behaviour and culture to achieve high work performance by adoption and implementation of value interventions, tools and methodologies to promote and instil high sense of commitment, ownership, integrity and loyalty that will contribute to operational excellence.
