What you'll be doing
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records for assigned clients using accounting software and manual bookkeeping methods
Processing invoices, receipts and financial transactions with precision and attention to detail
Preparing trial balances, bank reconciliations and monthly financial statements
Liaising with clients to collect financial documentation, clarify account information and resolve discrepancies
Entering and updating client data in accounting systems whilst ensuring compliance with data protection standards
Assisting with tax preparation and compliance documentation for small business clients
Supporting the preparation of financial reports and schedules for client review and submission
Identifying and flagging potential accounting issues or unusual transactions to senior team members
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information
Responding to client enquiries in a timely and professional manner
What we're looking for
A minimum of 1–3 years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting or a similar financial administrative role
Strong proficiency with accounting software packages (such as QuickBooks, Xero or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel
Sound understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger management
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy and detail
Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to clients
Reliability, integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant qualifications such as AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), LCCI or equivalent accounting certifications are highly desirable
Willingness to develop professional skills and pursue further accounting qualifications
